Debbie Naha will be leading a walk featuring local wild edible plants and ecology.  She will discuss plant I.D., safe and sustainable harvesting, and how to use wild plants in meals.  Debbie Naha is a biologist, master gardener, and dedicated forager.   As a dietitian she understands the value of the natural feast in our own backyard.  Wear fitness shoes and attire.  Children must be accompanied by an adult.  Inclement weather cancels the event.

Wild Edible Plants Walk / Fanwood Nature Center
Join the Fanwood Environmental Commission on an “Edibles Walk” to find those plants that are hiding in plain view.  Educator, naturalist, nutritionist, and wild plant expert Debbie Naha will lead us.  Ms. Naha is a featured walk leader at the annual Union County Bio-Blitz held each June.  She will point out those plants that can be harvested for salads and snacks (and perhaps a few you shouldn’t touch) and just might share some of her secret “wild” recipes. Meet at the entrance to the Fanwood Nature Center.
